Tony Mandola's Press
In Montrose the hot foodie news of late has been the opening of the new Whole Foods store. But starting today, culinary tongues will be wagging about the new kid on the block: Tony Mandola's.
The 6,700-square-foot restaurant -- a huge, handsome space -- is the new permanent home for one of Houston's most beloved restaurants. Mandola closed his longtime restaurant on West Gray earlier this year and set up a temporary shop on Westheimer as this new stand-alone venue was being readied. Today the wait ends.
Get ready for a sophisticated interior design and welcoming courtyard where you can sup on drunken shrimp, Oysters Damian and Mama's shrimp and crabmeat spaghetti.
A welcome addition to the menu is the house's new pizzas, including a meatball pizza, gumbo pizza and shrimp and tarragon pizza.
